This week is neither Weigh-In nor Workout Wednesday, because I’ve barely done any of either over the last week. But that’s what I expected with the fam in town, graduation, etc. This week and weekend is crrrrazzzyyyy, but next week I PROMISE I’m back after it.
Are any of y’all Biggest Loser watchers?
It’s one of the few shows and the only reality TV show I’ll watch. And let me tell you, my heart just broke for Daris when he gained those 2 pounds. And I could totally relate. (for those of you who don’t watch – They went home for 30 days to train for a marathon on their own. Daris ran his little heart out but stress ate himself into GAINING 2 pounds, while the other contestants were losing 10-20 pounds).
Getting to the gym is never my problem. I regularly burn anywhere from 700-1000 calories per workout (spinning, running, lifting, etc.), and work out usually 5 times a week. My problem? Eating.
Ya know that commercial for Alli that’s like "You eat when you're happy. You eat when you're bored. Sometimes you don't know WHY you eat" ??
OMG. GET OUTTA MY HEAD ALLI COMMERCIAL!
I eat when I’m happy. Or sad. Or stressed (oh good Lord do I eat when I’m stressed!). Or bored. Or because someone else is eating. Or because no one else is eating. Get the picture?
So on Biggest Loser when Daris went into the kitchen in the middle of the night and started scarfing more calories in 10 minutes than he’d eaten all day, it was like I was watching myself raid the fridge in the middle of the night.
So what’s YOUR weight loss problem? Do you eat healthy all day and struggle to get to the gym?
Work out HARD but eat everything you can get your hands on before/after? Are you a stress eater? Emotional eater? How the hell do you deal with it?
Do you not have weight loss problems? If so, go away. JK… sort of.
I’ve at least figured out my problems and WHY I can’t lose weight, but addressing/fixing the problems is a whole ‘nother can o worms. I need Jillian Michaels to move in with me. And lock my fridge.
I eat when I'm bored! And I normally can't say no to second helpings!
ReplyDeleteI am a new reader of yours and I also have my weight problems and just started Weigh-In Wednesdays on my blog www.livinglifeasanewlywed.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem when I eat for whatever reason. But my biggest thing is if I see someone eat infront of me and even if im not hungry i have to eat too. And I HATE the gym. I dont like to work out at all! But its the only way i can loose the weight so now I dont have a choice!
I eat healthy, but absolutely cannot make myself go to the gym. Or do any other form of cardio. It's bad. My bones will probably crumble in about 10 years!
ReplyDeleteyou ARE hilarious and amazing!! :)
ReplyDeleteFunny I just posted about how moved I was by last night too! I LOVE the biggest loser.
ReplyDeleteI do my best to eat healthy, but even though I am eating good food, I'm eating more of it than I should. I would LOVE to eat less but I AM ALWAYS HUNGRY.
I know we would all like to lose a few lbs but I'm happy with how I look now and accepting it and enjoying the feeling I get after working out AND after I eat a satisfying meal sure as hell beats killing myself to try to lose a few.
Eating is def a problem for me, especially sweets. I tend to do good during the weekdays and blow it at night and the weekends!
ReplyDeleteI live to read ur posts!!! So, pls keep up wid it!
ReplyDeletegood luck with BarBri or bar review and the job search. I see you have a great dane.
ReplyDeleteCoincidentally, it happens to be my profile pic. I am JD Underdog and I currently blog about my law school, job search and legal industry experience.
I gained 50 pounds in law school (2002-2005, 165-215). By 2008, I was 270 pounds. I'm back down to about 215, but I'd love to have my pre-law school weight back.
You are too funny, I have really enjoyed reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteI am the SAME way with eating. The best situation I can be in weight-loss wise is to have a routine. As long as that routine is in place, I will stick to it. Then i have one day where something out of the ordinary is going on, like a "celebration" dinner out, or an anniversary dinner, or basically anytime I go home (to Chicago). I lose weight like clockwork if I stick to counting calories, and running. (I run outside for cardio). I also have issues getting cardio in when the routine is all out of whack.
ReplyDeleteOh I freakin' love Biggest Loser. Ugh, that show just gets me.
ReplyDeleteGood luck finding a routine and sticking to it. I know I can't be uber-restrictive or else I blow it and end up doing what Daris did. I have to cheat on a weekend day or something in order to stick to a healthy plan the rest of the time.
I have two options....
ReplyDeleteI eat well and skip the gym
or
I go to the gym and eat junk
Why can't I get it TOGETHER?! GRRRR
I don't even know where to start with my weight problems. I was actually a little jealous this past week because my little bro got nailed in the mouth (he is an idiot & an ass) and is getting his mouth wired shut...I thought that sounded like a great diet to me! LOL
ReplyDeleteI think I suffer from both evils. One day I don't feel like exercising so I tell myself "oh just don't eat that much" but then I eat a ton and tell myself "just work out really hard". Since I don't end up doing either I just sit on the couch and eat crap and get fat. Ughhhhh I hate my lack of will power!
