Tomorrow morning, the cable man is coming to install DVR!
It's only an extra 10 bucks a month, so I decided to go for it. Mostly because this semester I have class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, so I completely miss Biggest Loser (the only reality TV I watch!), and have to miss the first part of Grey's. (tough life, I know)
I usually would just watch the shows online the next day, but Biggest Loser doesn't put the shows online for 7 days! So annoying.
What shows am I missing that I need to start recording? (I only have basic cable, so anything on HBO, Showtime, etc., I have to netflix!). I already watch Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and Biggest Loser. (okay, so maybe I lied when I said I didn't watch a lot of TV... apparently I do).
I'm a little nervous about this, since I've never been a big TV watcher... what if I turn into a total couch potato now that I have the ability to record all of these shows?!
I am not gonna lie - when I first started using DVR I went a little wild recording random crap and having an endless stream of awesome TV available.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll be just fine though - you've got all my favorites on your list. :)
There is a new show called The Deep End which is going to be on Thursdays before Grey's. It's about young, new attorneys and looks pretty good.. I think you should at least check out the first episode!
ReplyDeleteDVR is totally worth it. I'll admit, the only show I record is Law & Order:SVU. I'm a nerd.
ReplyDeleteYou won't turn into a total couch potato because of DVR :-) haha! I can't remember the last time I watched a show when it was actually airing, I love my DVR! Grey's is at the top of my list. Project Runway just started on lifetime.
ReplyDeleteI love our DVR! I set up a ton of series recordings, and then save them up for the weekend to watch and watch Netflix during the week.
ReplyDeleteI am a TV junkie, it is redic. how much TV I watch. Welcome to the club!
I miss having DVR so much! Sometimes I skip Thursday pilates b/c I'm afraid I'm gonna miss Greys. You watch The Good Wife already, right?
ReplyDeleteah yes, how could I have forgotten The Good Wife?! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteDVR is amazing and liberating. You no longer need to be a slave to TV time schedules. You can live life on your terms, come home and get caught up straight-away. Plus, it allows you to bypass the annoying and endless commercials. Massive time saver. Good investment. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI just got one before Christmas and I can't believe I went so long without one! have fun...
ReplyDeleteI agree with CowgirlLawyer, The Deep End looks like it is going to be great! I just got into The Modern Family on ABC and it is absolutely hysterical!!
ReplyDeleteoh DVR, how I love thee! Tomorrow is going to be a fabulous day for you - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWoohooo!!! I have never had DVR. I am so jealous!
ReplyDeletewe are addicted to the dvr...kind of sad, but oh so good. my fav thursday night shows are the office, 30 rock, and vampire diaries. i actually watch more, but i just realized how incredibly pathetic i sound. wow....
ReplyDeleteYou should totally pick up The Good Wife, which I think is one of the best new shows this season and Cougartown for something fun and quirky. Oh and Drop Dead Diva is a cute new show as well
ReplyDeleteOMG, I cannot imagine life before DVR. That's really sad. I love it, and you will too;)
ReplyDeleteA DVR is the best thing ever! It saves so much time, now you can fastforward the commercials!
ReplyDeleteIn no particular order (and you'll have to netflix some, but so worth it): Big Love, The Tudors, True Blood, Nurse Jackie, Gossip Girl, the new 90210 (it's good, I swear), Friday Night Lights (best show on television - coming back soon), Curb Your Enthusiasm, and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
ReplyDeleteModern Family is so funny and worth watching... comes on Wednesday nights.
